I’m Kirsty Grimes and I run We Love Our Locals, a marketing agency that pulls together various experienced freelancers to provide our clients with a “one stop shop” style service. You deal with me, and I deal with the typical time-consuming hassle of liaising with several people to ensure your campaign is done on time.
For example, you might want to send out a letter and flyer to 50 potential clients each month, then have them followed up with a phone call. That involves a data provider, copywriter, graphic designer, printer, direct mail company and a telemarketer! That might seem a bit overwhelming to you, so instead you come to me and I get data from a supplier, Jenny writes it, Lee designs it, a trade supplier prints and sends it out and Sarah does the calls. But you don’t REALLY need to know that, because you simply ask me to get it sorted for you, brief me and approve what you need to.

Due to being a popular subcontractor for various marketing companies, we operate at freelancer rates rather than agency rates. Depending on the task and experience of the freelancer, you’re looking at £20-30 an hour. Our low minimum order quantities – often just 1-2 hours for most services – means that we’re a flexible, all-round resource for those on a lower budget who don’t want to be forced into a contract or guilt-tripped about their budget. So many of our clients initially tell us that other people have made them feel rubbish as they can’t afford some massive multi-grand campaign, but I got brought up by a dad whose shop marketing budget is about £100 a year… so I practically have a heart attack if a client wants to spend more than £200 in one go!
